It’s hard to believe it’s been 10 years since we first opened our doors on Mills Avenue in Orlando, Florida, but we are so grateful for all of the support we’ve received along the way.
A lot has happened in those 10 years, so we wanted to take a moment to share a few things you may not know about our squad!
1. We have been around for 10 years!
10 years, 11 cities, and 5 states later, we have each and every one of you to thank for the last decade of noods, rice, and roti. When we say we couldn’t do it without you, we really mean it. Here’s to the next 10 years!
2. We build custom furniture in our own woodshop.
Every table, bench, and wooden fixture you see in a Hawkers location was handmade by our very own in-house woodshop team. Our squad puts a lot of love, creativity, and hard work into each piece of furniture, and who knows what they will dream up next!
3. The founders have hidden signatures at each restaurant.

4. The founders built the first Hawkers location in Orlando.
Back in 2011, four best friends with a big dream and no money built the very first Hawkers location – themselves – on Mills Avenue in the heart of Orlando. Every detail – even the ones that we cringe at a bit – will always hold a special place in our hearts.
5. Each Hawkers location is unique.
While each location has its own vibe, repeat elements like authentic Asian newsprint tabletops, street-inspired graphic wallcoverings, colorful patios, and neon lights fill each restaurant with a true Hawkers street vibe.
6. We have a nationally-awarded in-house marketing and creative team.
Our nationally-awarded in-house marketing team is always looking to push the limit by producing unique and immersive experiences that transport guests to the streets of Asia, whether it’s through interior design, apparel, or campaign creative.
7. Our menu is comprised of multi-generational family recipes.
Our menu is packed with multi-generational family recipes, many of which, are still served in hawker stalls on the streets of Asia today. Every dish on the menu is made with years of family love and history.
8. Hawkers Headquarters is located in the heart of downtown Orlando.
Orlando is where it all started with our Mills 50 location, but it’s also home to our Hawkers Headquarters. Next time you visit Church Street, peep the neon lights.
9. We have multiple locations all across the Southeast.
Over the course of the last 10 years, we’ve grown to serve up noods, rice, and roti in 11 restaurants across the southeast. Visit us in Florida, Georgia, North Carolina, Tennessee, and the DC metro area.
10. We have a full working commissary.
Hawkers houses a full working commissary which allows us to produce our own proprietary sauces, dumplings, wontons, and more. We call it our Central Kitchen, and it’s the heartbeat of many of our most popular dishes!
